Dave Ramsey: From millionaire to bankruptcy to multimillionaire

Dave Ramsey didn’t live like most people from Antioch, Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a business degree, Dave built a real estate portfolio worth $4 million at the age of 26. Dave Ramsey was wealthy. On paper.

Unfortunately, the bank asked him to pay back more than a million dollars he had borrowed. Money he didn’t have. With a new marriage and young children, Dave Ramsey was forced to sell everything he had, then declare bankruptcy.

Dave Ramsey was guilty of living how everyone else was living. Buying homes, cars and stuff they couldn’t afford and using the “help” of credit to pay for it all. So Dave went on a quest to discover how money really worked and how he could control it for life. Dave Ramsey learned that personal finance was more “personal” than “finance”. If he could change his behaviors, he could win with money.
